Sunday School

Sunday School at Rock Presbyterian Church begins at 10:00 on the bottom floor in the education building on the east end of the church.  The Kindergarten and Primary grades are going through the Children's Catechism published by Great Commissions Publications.  The Kindergarten class is taught by Leslie Sisiam; the Primary class is taught by Melissa Bowden and Erica Sisiam.   The Adult SS class is currently studying the Adult Quarterly published by Christian Education Ministries of the ARP church.  The Quarterly was formerly written and edited by the late Dr. W. F. Kuykendall of Erskine Theological Seminary and Sunday School teacher at the Due West ARP church.  Following Dr. Kuykendall is Dr. William B. Evans, Younts Professor of Philosophy and Religion at Erskine College.  This class meets in the left transept of the Church Nave (sanctuary).  This class is taught by the Rev. Joseph Johnson.

Events in the Life of the Church

The WIM host a "Back to School Bash" for the students returning to school in the Fall; in addition, there is our annual Fall Fling in October, as well as our Reformation Sunday evening fellowship, as we view the Luther film.  We have a Thanksgiving Luncheon and a Christmas Cantata in December as well as our annual Candlelight Communion service before Christmas. As noted elsewhere, we prepare for Holy Week in the Spring by observing Lent and look forward to our Easter Sunrise vigil at the end of Holy Week commemorating our Lord's resurrection.

 

The Men of Rock	Women in Ministry
The Men of Rock is the men's ministry at Rock Church.  MOR and the Women in Ministry meet the first Thursday of every month at 7:00PM.  Usually, there is finger food or the fixins for a small dinner.  MOR is a time for the men of the church to meet together for fellowship and prayer.  Ray Sparrow-President Randy Sloan-- Vice-President Joseph Sisiam--Stated Clerk Bob McCord--Treasurer The Men of Rock have four active committees: [1] Discipleship, [2] Community Outreach, [3] Membership/ Invitation and [4] Church Projects	Women in Ministry is the women's ministry group at Rock Church.  WIM meet with the Men of Rock the first Thursday of every month at 7:00PM.  Usually, there is finger food or the fixins for a small dinner.  WIM meet for a time of devotion, encouragement and planning. Church Choir	Wednesday Small Group
The choir practices at 8:45 AM prior to Sunday School in the choir room on the west wing of the church.  The choir practices anthems for the morning liturgy and they have begun to practice for the Christmas Cantata.  Currently, we are in need of a choir director-- see our add on the homepage.	The Wednesday night discipleship time is being re-organized into a small group meeting. Please check back for further details.
